fox.. one ear

walking the local hill today didnt get far when a fox got up. unfortunately he didnt get far when i looked at the carcas noticed there was only one ear and the tip of the tail was missing.

iv had them in the past with three legs even had one with one eye years ago.anyone else come across them like this?

never had 1 with a ear or eye missing.had 1 with no tail bout 3 years ago.

mate of mine not long ago got a old vixen that had only a few teeth left , been a good age,

sounds like a hunt that didn't work out. Somone dogs came back, one with a tail and other with an ear

Never had a mangled fox, but in Australia some unscrupulous types would cut the ears of sows and boar pigs so hunting dogs couldn't get a hold of them and so they could continue to breed and keep the feral pip population up.

I've seen plenty of lame, mangy, sick looking city foxes around though.
