blando 0
Was out ferreting the other day, we netted up in a burrow next to an old fallen down tree root, we put 4 ferrets down al collard up as it was quite a big berry. We had 4 in the nets, lost 2 from un netted holes that the dog missed. Then put 2 ferrets back in the box as nothing else seemed to be happening. One of the other 2 laid up so we dug to it and got it back with a rabbit. But the other ferret the small jill could not be located anywhere we were there for hours looking for her looked al around the surrounding area even went to the burrow the bolters had ran too to see if she mite have rode a rabbit. I don’t understand what mite have happened the only thing I can think of is she went to deep and got stuck or got into a wet bit that knackered the collar. We keped putting the other ferrets down to see if they could find it but no luck just another dig. Anyone had this happen to them? Quote Link to post

Guest ferreting king
i hope that you find your ferret, it might have come out of the warren when digging, the only thing that i can think of is look closely around the warren and surrounding areas for ferret shit and that might find you your ferret Quote Link to post
Guest Bigbob
Where do you start ,Did you block in all the holes apart from the one you left the trap in ?? or you could have dug a half barrel hole at the hole you left open with some rabbit guts in it .Did you try the area with a lamp at night if the ferrets out you might get it this way .But dont give up i lost one for a week but i was checking the burrow daily but like yours there was no reading off the collar and i reckon she had to eat her way through a rabbit .
