scothunter 12,609 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Share Posted November 16, 2010 ok lads ive set up a desk top for a mate,however im getting no sound from speakers.he wants to put it into a shop but i said id ask first see if anyone knows if it could be something simple.plug the speakers in and when u connect u hear a slight crackle as the plugs are put in.but no sound from them at all.could the sound card be f****d.is there a test u can run to see if it is? Click on hardware, and you should be able to see if everything's working OK. There is a more advanced option somewhere I think it's called hardware manager.. I'll have a look. Choose 'hardware', then double click on 'sound, video & game controllers.' You can then click on the default audio device and check that it's working properly.
