minion 29
I am a self employed heating engineer and we save up all the old cylinders we take out and take them to the scrappy every few weeks. Got £4.10 a kilo and ended up with over £1100 for old copper cylinders. We usually give the old boilers and other steel to any of the scrap guys that drive by but keep the copper. Just wondered if there was folk on here who collect scrap full time and what sort of money they make? Obviously it depends on what you get but as an average weekly wage? Just interested as alot of the scrap guys have new vans so must do okay out it. We dont keep the steel because its not worth us storing it due to the space that it takes up but its surprising how the off cuts off copper add up.
