cut throat razor

Recommended Posts

Shaved my head for over 20yr & always wanted to try. After paying around £20 for a turkish in Edinburgh,i bought one. I can do head & chin pretty good, but ended up with faint scratch lines on my face mostly. Put it away after about 6 times & went back to the battery gillette. I could get it very smooth & the head no bother, but couldnt get out of leaving the faint scratches.

Any tips ????????????????????????????????/

sorry for the wait use a silicone based shaveing soap not normal cream froma tin it helps the razor slide better also many people say use a slight heel to point movement when shaveing ie the end moves more than the handle end like a clock face. but this will leave heel scratches pull the blade as streight down as you can any lateral movement WILL end up as a cut.

my old man used one.still got it somewhere upstairs/remember he used to hang the strop(think thats what its called)on the door and sharpened it.they used to be popular in the 60s in glasgow :whistling:#

the called them messages in glasgow in days gone by i was told.cause the guys using them for other reasons than shaving had thier wifes keep them in thier message bags.after the deed was done.well so i was told by an old guy.

There is a barber near me that does cut throat shave with hot flannel etc. Id definately like to try one like when i get time.At the minute i use a Wilko Sword Titanium as them Fusions are shit and too expensive and working with Asbestos i gotta be clean cut at all times :(

Bet you look hard as f**k using it and all. I'd try one, but not shaved in 8 years.

Serious matey. I've cut with a scissors so i don't look like moses, but my face hasn't seen the light of day in the last 8 years.
