Hannah4181 260
When teaching a "stay" i have always favoured the side stepping method! Seriously, try putting the dog in a sit to your side, and then move away just one step away from him, give the command, count to 3 then go back and praise him loads! By going to the side they are less likely to follow you, just increase the time and distance and keep it fun. If the dog gets up before you step back, then don't do or say anything anything, just calmly put him back in a sit and repeat until he cracks it. P.S . . . . bull's are thick so it will take longer! littlefish 598
Good luck - stick at it. I personally find it easier to bring on one pup at a time.
ryno 11
Good luck - stick at it. I personally find it easier to bring on one pup at a time. sit the dog and walk away,if the dog moves shake it up a little and put it back on the exact same spot ,when the dog finally stays never call it to you,you must return to the dog and praise it.i was shown this technique by a proffessional gundog trainer and my spaniel sits and stays for hours when i am shooting let me know how you get on
