What you need is a ferrite rod that should cost less than a couple of quid. Try searching for "ferrite rod" using google.

 

Think this may be what you want and it only costs 45p.

yes mate it is, never mind i got it all done now.

Deben say it needed recalibrating with a new rod,do you know how this is done?

 

Sorry can't help with the recalibration. On the old Mk1 finders it was a case of fiddling with two pot resistors probably similar on the Mk3 but don't know.
