doris 6
how long would you leave it before re-ferreting a bury ? The reason I ask is I popped out for a couple of hours with a dozen purse nets and one ferret, and stumble on a 30 hole bury. I gave it a go but clearly not enough artillery so after bolting a dozen bunnies decided to leave it and come back with the equipment to do it proper. Will the bunnies now leave that bury as the scent of the ferret will taint it? Quote Link to post
runforyourlife 361
some will yes.... its hit and miss. Altho i doubt you will get nowhere near the numbers you bolted 1st time. You maybe should have left it till you had the right equipment...i have ferreted warrens the day after, and had more rabbits from them. Also ferreted for weeks after and had nothing. All depends on the population of rabbit you have around the area. Atb Russ Quote Link to post
The one 8,598
i usually wait a fortnight or a bit longer as it takes me that long to get back to that piece of permission ,and it all depends what the surrounding grounds like ect Quote Link to post
max abell 198
It depends on how many rabbits populate that area on one of our permissions there is a few small burries on the top of this bank at the bottom of the bank there are massive burries 500/600 holes under all sorts of crap you could never ferret they are inexcessable you can ferret the small burries every week all winter and still get rabbits out of them week after week yet other burries in other places you do them once and they never fill up again till the spring Quote Link to post
Brimmer 220
Get into at as soon as! If there are rabbits there, then unless they see a threat outside, they are probs more likely to get out if they feel under threat from beneath the sod. Quote Link to post
