murphymax 9
headed out last night and met up with my mate Dave to have a look at the 3 Foxes he had bagged using his night vision set up, didnt meet until around midnight. however by this time the mist was pretty heavy and getting worse, so after a chat i headed off into the mist to see what i could see (FECK ALL) So my mate jimmy and i decided to call it a night and head home, when driving home we passed a field that i shoot and the gate was open, NO SHEEP so in we went, this takes you up to the fence line where there is a big ravine between the field i was in and another field i shoot, when we got over to the fence i flicked the lamp on, and 2 Foxes on the other side around 300yards wide and filled with mist lower down, the 2 started to make there way down into the ravine, tried a squeek and one bolted straight down the hill into the mist, the other followed and as luck would have it, he stopped just before the mist, enough time to whack him with the 223 using a 55gr homeload, then had to go back out and up the road half a mile to get into the other field so we could come back down to the ravine to get the fox, after jumping the fence and heading down to where i thought i had shot him(not) after searching for about 15 mins i got him, below the fog line as it had risen a few feet, however i ranged to the other side and it was 187 yds so he was shot at around 180yards, roughly taking into account i had to move from where he was shot due to the fog. 2 pictures but its the same fox.
