Wild Whippies 11
I joined ages ago but haven't really had a good look round the site until now! Thought I'd say Hi My name is Jacqui and I'm from Astley near Manchester. I have racing whippets and me and my friends organise Westhoughton's Whippet and Dog racing club. We also race at the Gin Pit (A&T Miners in Tyldesley). (Details are in the events section) I used to show dogs as a kid (manchester terriers and dobermanns) then got into racing whippets. I like Lurchers a lot and enjoy reading the stories on here. We've also lined our studs to lurchers needing some extra pace. I'm quite keen to see if anyone has any of our stud dog's offspring so thought I'd add their names especially as one of them is 15 now and coming to the end of his days. The old man is Soapy Joe aka Joey, he's lined numerous lurchers in his life and threw some interesting chocolate colours. The other sire is Red Ranger aka Solo. He's lined a couple lurchers and by all accounts the linings have worked well for the breeders. Don't know if any of their owners are on here? I do a lot of photography for whippet racing, feel free to check out my website on the link below. There's also photos of lurchers and terriers that have raced / shown at A&T Miner's lurcher show and also racing shots from Westhoughton.

silvershooter 0
Hi Wild Whippies, Great to hear from you. I have a labrador X greyhound, we got him as a foundling and he has the mild temprement of the Lab but he just loves to chase little critters - some not so small like sheep! He can run like the wind. The photo of you and your dog is nice and I shall check you site out later. cheers
