Two things .

Right first thing , went out shooting last night with main man and took bailey with us, she was brilliant and so up for carrying the rabbits, and she even helped to leg them ,she got back last night full of her self because she had played a part in it all,and had hands on this time, this morning she even helped with the skinning, :toast:

This is her before we skinned them .

Secondly i want to try and cure some of the rabbits skins but dont know how, can it be done with out having to buy any stuff to soak it in ??????? so far i have washed out with cold water but dont know where to go from here . :blink:

NICE PICTURES, as for the skins, Ive always stretched them out on a board, fur side down, nails at edges to hold them tight, scape of excess fat with knife blade, then a bit of salt and left to dry, once dried get some tanning oil and rub into the skin, a few applications and its supple again

Thanks for that stubby, will give it a go and let you know how i get on, i want to try and make bailey a pair of mittens out of them :boogie:

ive never tried keepin any skins or hides .. shame realy..

but ive always bin led to believe you can tan any skin with the animals own brains mashed up and rubbed in the skin once youve scraped it..

 

 

Yeah i heard about that , but i dont think i fancie rooting about picking brain out :sick:
