i own a bull x but he aint no bragging tool (i didnt buy him cause of what x he was i bought him because i liked the look of him)... yes he kills foxes for me but i use him for filling the pot..

i never bring a big bag home, if i catch a couple of rabbits then i head back home or if i manage to shoot a hare for the dog to retrieve i head home and thats what keeps me happy

i think a lot of the old rough coated lurchers are still about but younger people are being influenced by people bragging about certain xs .

There are plenty of good dogs around, that are able to deal with what comes along. It just takes a bit of effort to find them, personally i would rather find a genuine hunting lad,who is breeding a litter from a bitch who has served him well, and who has found the best dog available,to replace the bitch.Than go looking for one of the legends. This site is a bit of fun, good for a bit of banter, but i feel sorry for beginers, who must feel there dogs are useless, because it cannot take 4 foxs every night,or five out of five hares, infact it probally couldnt even turn a fen hare, and if it hasnt got bull blood, minshaw breed,or some other big name, its not even worth taking the dog out.The type of dog you are looking for are out there but you will not find the lads that have them shouting about them,if that was there nature they wouldnt keep that type of dog.

thats the problem you cant get these dogs because they think your a messer went out last night one hare one rabbit and dog took a bite and pulled away first one its ever seen never mind it doesnt matter im happy just being out with my mate another geniune lurcher man the thing is how do you know if the dog is geniune if you cant get to see them like you say too many people breeding rubbish then bragging it up to make the sale i do like the sound of deer grey x collie grey good dogs awhile ago

Yes its good if you have seen the bitch work, but i have done well just by answereing ads also,A few choice questions will tell you if the seller ,Knows his stuff,Telling you what you want to here ect,But there again i can smell bull sh*t before its even spoken. Then if your happy,go and see the pups,You will know instantly if the seller has pride in his dogs, i know of places you would pull up out side and nearly not bother, but as soon as you see the kennels and dogs you just see, that there is a pride there.
