Having brought a lurcher and started him last season, he's now coming up 2.5 years old. My older bitch which isn't even a lurcher, DalmationXBeardy . . . . she's 6 years old, and was getting very interested in my late night trips out with the lurcher, i took her out to try her and she loved it! Averages only about a 1 out of 5 catch rate, but has a ball and took to it instantly, may be the collie brains coming through though. She competes at all sorts of dog sports and i've found letting her have a few runs on the lamp is excellent at adding to her fitness regime, plus a bit of fun in a different area for her.

Never heard off a dog starting so late but now off few still working at 8 9 but not to much few runs here and there but dog still wants hunt will why not let it IMOA

my 5/8 x 3/8 is 8 or more now and he ll still run behind the quad all day when following the hounds or will lamp or still work with the terriers. i think as long as they ve been kept fit they ll still perform in later years for you.

the advantages over a young agile dog is zero. different your dog has reached that age so its a natural progression , but imagine starting him off at 9year old :wallbash::wallbash:
