BIG_SLIM 17
30 rabbits the equivalent to 6 daytime hares what about the dogs doing 50 rabbits is that the same as a dog doing 10 daytime hares Im not even interested in rabbits or hares but i bet there is more dogs about doing 30 rabbits a night than 6 daytime hares. every body gets on there hight horse on here! it was only two mins of thought while i was at work the other day not an exact science! i know 2 dogs catch over 10 hares ( not january ) round my way and none that have taken 50 bunnies. yes a lots down to the ground n numbers about. you need lighten up ! Im not getting on my high horse, maybe it just seemed that way over the internet. Thats just my opinion on the matter but like has been said already in this thread it all depends on the ground. What i was saying is i think there is more dogs doing 30 rabbits on ground like the dales then there is doing 6 daytime hares on the fens. Quote Link to post

macker 5
a hare is an athelete and a bunny is a rodent not trying to start anything but there is a very big difference between the two to be comparing them different breeds of lurcher can be used for either too mack Quote Link to post
morton 5,369
My dogs are deerhound/greyhound-collie/greyhound,30+ rabbits was a regular occurence [back of grasswoods,grassington]1981 to 86.It was crawling with rabbits, we used to take 4or5 lads and dogs[im sure some of the south yorks. lads remember]at one stage we used to take lads just to carry rabbits. I still go up there but the rabbits arent as abundant. Kettlewell was the place to go till the snow last in winter, decimated the population. Still some good spots in Dales, find em yourself though,ha ha. Quote Link to post
