advice please!

hello i was just wondering if somebody could help me ,im 16 years old.i have a pattxrussell and a russell cross.the pattxrussell is 2 and the russell cross is 3.i have very much enjoyed digging rats and bushing rabbits with my two dogs for the years i have owned them and they have proved rather good at it.but all in all i feel i am missing out on something.you see,i would love to get into fox digging and so would my friends who also own terriers but its so hard to find where they are! my terriers once killed a rather sickly looking fox in a wood near to my house and to be honest it was the only fox i have ever seen.looking over the same places just gets boring and rather hopeless.i just wondered if any body could give me some good advice on likely places to look for earths and the times that i should do it.any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks sam

Not sure what you are asking there Sambo....are you asking how to get more permission?

 

If you're asking about how to find earths, then there's no simple answer. Foxes live everywhere and earths crop up all over the place. I even had one in my garden a few years back. Ash tips are a good place to look as it's easy digging for charlie. There's one on my old land that comes back every year and digs a new earth in the ash.

 

I've got to say, you're probably the most eloquent 16 year old I've ever read on here. Do you go to Eton?

go out on your permission at night and lamp and sqeak for charlie, once you have found a place where you see them often then go out in the day and search the area,s you have seen charlie. i have seen den,s along side rabbit warrens, so look everywhere even silly places. You,ll get there its just a matter of time, so long as you,ve seen charlie at night he,ll be living near(ish) by.

you will find them everywhere mate, look on bankings theres quite a high chance you will find some on there, where are you from mate??? Also before you start digging you will need a locater for your dog. If you know your dog will self enter an earth put a locater on it and it might find an earth by itself.
