Millet 4,497
How do you know you are in the last day of waking.? is there a time limmit and schedule for this method.ie say someone says it takes 4 days to wake a hawk do you stick to this. p.s forgot to say you will have a good bird there because mick kane breeds the best birds in europe i dont know where i heard this but it sounds good. How do you know that perticular bird is ready for the next step in its training when wakeing. its like saying my 6mth old baby is ready to walk when my mates took 11mth to walk.if i pushed my 6mth baby to quick he would fall. Barky 24
what are the advantages of doing this? why not the normal way? Quote Link to post
falconer 3
the advantages i think of using this method are that i have seen p/r birds that havent been waken ive seen imprints and ive seen birds that have been woken and out of all of them the woken one is the steadiest ive seen. the way i know its ready for the next step is in the usual way the waking process is only a manning process after waking it is the the usual way of training jumping the leash ect... tyson666 11
may sound a stupid question...but what do u mean by "waked" Quote Link to post
supersam 64
may sound a stupid question...but what do u mean by "waked" it means when you pull ypur young gos from the pen you keep it awake and on the fist for 48hours or more. on the after the first and second night show your gos as much as you can, dog,s,livestock, veichle,s everything. he will be too tired to do anytthing but wil still take it all in. it,s suppose to take the edge off the gos and tames it down quicker. i had a short season with him falconer. had his first kill on the 29th of august and ripped one of his talons off on a rabbit mid november. he had 114 kills to that date. killed rook,s,grey crow, jackdaw, maggie,s,rabbit, black back gull,2 rats(by accident)pheasant and duck Quote Link to post
