Peteg 0
Hello all, I live in Denver Colorado, and am seeking advice on lakeland breeders stateside. There are a lot of patterdale and jrt breeders about, but I haven't seen much on lakelands. Do you know of any you could point me to? I have enjoyed reading your forums, good news that hunting hasn't died under the ban. I went to school for a time in Ireland where I remember seeing a lot more game terriers then here in Denver. (Limerick - Mary Immaculate 13yrs ago) I currently own a working Airedale, and am interested in finding a digger to run with him. I would prefer a bitch, especially one that has a saddle - crosses ok too. Thanks Pete Quote Link to post

Thanks Pete jj patterdales has links on there site You will find very few Lakey types in the states.....I know of only a few that are from a line of legitimate workers......Black coated, white coated and Jagds are the majority of workers here. Panna 68
In kennel Sow's Ear Farm (JRTCA) there are red working lakelands and the breeder had a website of "Banded Mountain terriers", which are - to my understanding - working Lakeland x Jack Russell crosses, but for some reason the link ( www.bandedmountainterrier.com ) does not work anymore. More about the lakeland at Sow's Ear Farm: http://www.sowsearfarm.com/fells_lakelands.htm You may contact Karen McCarthy (Sow's Ear Farm), she will surely be able to help you. YIS Quote Link to post
The Breeder 156
I don't know if this helps, but back in the late 70's - early 's a few Lakelands (Middleton's old lines) were sent to the states by M.D. One of the dogs was called Flint (blue/tan dog) the same lines as the dog and bitch in the pictures below. He was a very well tested dog. If memory serves me well, I think that the dogs were sent down south, for raccoons and other quarry. Quote Link to post
Peteg 0
Thanks for the help. Those last pics are what I am talking about. Sweet looking dog. You fellers know of any working Airedales out there across the pond. There is a small but strong group out here. Here is a link to some that you might be interested in.http://workingairedale.ERFujikolp;'/index.cgi? One more question. It looks like the bigger terriers in use out there are pit bulls and wheaten terriers. The only wheatens around here are 100% show dogs that don't strike me as real hunters. Am I correct? I will try the two links and see what I come up with, feel free to send along more info if you have any. Quote Link to post
