todays ferreting

Recommended Posts

went out this morning for an hours ferreting with bow and flynn, was a cold one this morning so decided to net only half the warren as it was so windy, and left the dogs to chase any that bolted from the other unnetted holes.

so the warren i was ferreting was 36 holes i netted the ones i thought the nets wouldn't be disturbed by the wind. and stood back. heard a bit of a rumble below my feet and got the locator on to find out the depth. 6ft decided to wait a while and see if it bolted so i marked the spot, and waited again. few seconds later had my first bolt from an unnetted hole, with the 2 pups off after it, but it got away. :(

next rabbit wasnt as lucky bolted almost at flynns feet and he had it in a few yards. :)

decided to call it aday at that cus the sky was getting dark and it looked like rain was on its way

heres a pic, of the dogs waiting while i netted up

Nice photo, looks rough enough country to ferret, a bit like my area.

You did the sensible thing and packed up before the rain came, unlike me and my mate, waited to see how heavy it was and got soaked to the skin. :11:
