Ferret Losing Weight and Hair

Recommended Posts

Have 1.5 year old Gill ferret and was in great health and great form until we

got another ferret. The new one was only 6 weeks old when we got her so the

Gill started looking after her like she was her own. (she has never had a litter)

Now the new ferret is 14 weeks and getting very big very quickly. She is a fine

ferret but the Gill is loosing weight rapidly and loosing her hair in patches at

the back of her head and down both sides of her back. She is also starting to get

rats tail!

Don't know if the weight loss is because she isn't getting enough food because of the

new one being fairly possessive over food and is not letting her eat as much as she

should be. New ferret is also extremely boisterous and fear that the hairloss is

due to her hanging out of her - for which the Gill does nothing - just lets her away

with it!!

Any advice or similar problem??

Jackie had to of wrote this..to many big words in it for you to have done it
