silentshot1 206
If you have the room in the car or you can store things on site, just use garden canes with strong garden tape joining them instead of lofting poles. Place them about 10ft in front of the tree so they can be clearly seen and wait. I use 5, 6' garden canes, one split in two, which give me 2 15' lofted decoys, placed 8' ish in front of the tree cover, I then place 8 shells out on the ground, spread in a horseshoe pattern, down wind from the setee tree, spaced between 15 meters and 30 meters from my lay up spot and wait. The little winged cherubs will either land in the tree or your pattern and off you go, filling up the freezer! Oh, and if you can, get a crow decoy down as well, about 20 meters from the back of your pattern! Decoying Pigeons is a whole different game to mooching, it's the skill in getting the set up right that I love, plus the hours of nothing more than watching, aiming and shooting. it's addictive, like Thai Chie, but for blokes.
