help me get the right mounts

I need mounts for my HW45, can someone send me a link to the right ones please

An idea of the scope you want to mount would be great.

Basically Jac, you need 1" diameter mounts for that particular scope.

 

The are 3 different mount heights, low, medium and high.

High mountsa re for scopes with and objective lens diamter of 50mm plus.

Low mounts usually cover scopes from 20mm to 38mm dia.

Medium mounts cover scopes from 38 - to about 45mm diam.

 

Thats the very basics of scope mounts, however:

 

Its quite subjective as it all depends on where your eyeball is when you put your cheek on the rifle stock and have the gun in a comfortable holding position.

 

Lets say your eye sits 40mm above the top of the rifle barrel, then the centre of the scopes eyepiece would also ideally be centred on the same line of vision.

Thats in a perfect world and you can achieve that if you try different heights of scope mount, in reality if your on a budget I would go with a medium mount with that particular scope you want..

Some general rules of thumb on scopes:

The smaller the objective lens, the less light they let in, so great for daytime shooting but not so good for dusk or night. The larger the objective lens the more light they let, so a brighter image is seen even in low light.

 

With the medium mounts you could, at a later time, use them again with a large objective lens scope, so you dont have to buy new mounts

Hi,i believe the the hw45 has a 12mm rail.Most rifles and pistols have an 11mm rail.

I have heard of people using/adapting weaver rails or in the states they sell split mounts to help center the scope.
