Ashover rabbit dogs 76 Posted July 24, 2010 Report Share Posted July 24, 2010 The docking of tails act came into force in England on 6 april 2007 and in wales on 28 march 2007 amongst other things the act states, The pups must be docked at less than 5 days old, the vet has to certify that he/she has seen evidance that the dog is likley to work in the specified area. Puppies must be MICRO-CHIPPED either at the time of docking or before 12 weeks of age by the vet that docked the dog or they're representative. through exemption In England the following can be docked, 1) Hunt point retrievers of any type or combination. 2) Spaniels of any type or combination. 3) Terriers of any type or combination. through exemption In Wales the following can be docked.. 1) Spaniels of the following breed but no combinations, English springer, welsh springer or cocker spaniel. 2) Terriers of the following breed but no combinations, J.R.T'S, Cairn, Lakeland or norflok terrier. 3) Hunt point retrievers of the following breed but no combinations, Braque italiano, Brittany, German long, short and wire haired pointers,Hungarian visla, Wire haired visla, Italian spinone, Spanish water dog, Weimeraner, Korthals griffon, Slovakian rough haired pointer, the large and small munsterlander. A person found guilty of an offence under the animal welfair act 2006 (England) is liable on conviction to inprisonment for a term not exceeding 51 weeks or a fine not exceeding £20.000 or both. Ashover rabbit dogs 76 Posted July 30, 2010 Author Report Share Posted July 30, 2010 the reason i put this post on is because my friend recently got ripped off with a terrier from wales it was apparently legaly docked and apparently in wales you dont have to get them mico-chipped and you dont get a docking certificate and because all the pups were vaccinated at the same time you dont get a vaccination certificate. what a load of bull!
