comanche 3,311
The atlatla itself isn't a weapon. It's an extention of the throwing arm that allows more leverage on the butt of a spear to produce greater velocity. It was (is?) used a lot by Inuit hunting from kayaks as it allowed a forcefull throw of the harpoon without the hunter having to rock the boat too much!
