Gin 503
I have just bought a BSA Mercury in .22 Its a powerful gun and very acurate, but i was wondering, is anyone using a Mercury and what pellet type do you find best. I did try randon pellets i had, and did notice differences. Edited July 3, 2010 by Gin Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Hi, mate. Those older .22 BSA's and Webley's used a 5.6mm bore where everybody else used (still do) a 5.5mm bore. I always used Eley Wasps back then as they were made for the British barrel's but the quality of them's gone to pot in recent years. Total sh1te... RWS Superdome worked well in mine so maybe give them a go. Good luck, fella. Cheers. Quote Link to post
Gin 503
Thanks pal. I have now got some RWS Superdome, and got some Wasp 5.6 just to see what they are like. I do like this rifle. Quote Link to post
Gin 503
The WASP pellets i got have only 5 deformed pellets out of 500,- the rest seem perfect and much better in the Mercury. I can't really fault the WASP. I may have just been lucky. When these are waxed, the perfprmance should be even better. I always washed and waxed my pellets. Quote Link to post
Gin 503
I have just been zeroing the gun in using this "frame" made for me by a lad in Ireland,- it works great,- not only close grouping, but the last several pellets in the same hole,- with WASP pellets. Quote Link to post
