collie/grey 238
This is something i think about alot as i have too many injurys when the dogs are working and the vets are expensive, i don't get my dogs vaccinated every year which is what most insurance companys seem to require and it just seems to cost alot of money to insure them!! I have done a search and the cheapest seems to be £16 a month per a dog but that's for the shittest cover!! I am no scruge with money especially on my dogs but i am always out of pocket when the vets are needed, im not talking about the regular skin tears or gashes as i am quite handy with the skin stapler but more serious things like fractured bones or god forbid broken bones are just rediculous pricing at vets to fix. Anyone know of a decent good priced insurer? I would happily pay £10 a month per dog for the right cover but i am not vaccinating every year to be able to insure! mikeyblue 28
Hi, I had the same concerns as yourself. I insured with Argos of all people!! It costs me £8 a month for their minimum policy which seems perfectly adequate. When i rang them they told me if the dog isnt vaccinated, they only wont pay out if the problem is related to lack of vaccination. Could be worth a look Hope this helps a little. P.S I havent had to make a claim as yet so cant tell you how good they would be at paying out.
Hollie 21
Hiya, i don't vaccinate yearly either, at the moment mine are both insured for accident only, costs me £9 a month for BOTH, i will put it up to a higher cover soon, Animal friends insurance http://www.animalfriends.org.uk/dog_insurance.html
collie/grey 238
Thanks guys. Have found a really good deal now though. £36.88 a month for four dogs at the best level of cover, covers upto £4000 in vets fees and all the regulars and like has been said the only thing with vaccination is they won't pay out if they get a vaccination preventative disease, which is fair enough. www.pet-insurance.co.uk
