watchman 256
read something the other day about dogs catching foxes out of the beam, for one reason or another, brow of a hill, dell hole in a field maybe,pre-ban(god don't you just get f****d off having to keep saying that)anyway i have had a few over the years,do you think a dog that is capable of catching them like this has a little bit more of what it takes to do the job,as i never really thought about it like that, just took it as being a bit lucky sometimes and after reading about it,just got me thinking. the particular bitch i had that done this a few times was the best dog i had,not for this reason, just generally, but is this another proof in point that she was a good dog,or is it the case that everyone gets these opportunitys now and again,is this a case of a dog that wants its quarry at all cost and the difference between a good fox dog and a not so good one,or do you only give credit for the way the fox is actually taken at the end, whats your thoughts on this, cheers rob Edited June 5, 2010 by watchman Quote Link to post

watchman 256
ive seen many dogs catch foxes outa the lamp going afew feilds to find them standing over ther dead quarry deadicated to ther game. 99% of the time i lamp alone, suits me,nothing worse than the majority of people i know wanting to ponce a night out just for the sake of them being able to say, lamping, yeah done a bit of that blah blah,so have only seen it a few times,it may well be more common than i thought, and not be on the menu as making any difference to the dog that does this, over a dog that does not, perhaps im just bigging my bitch up needlessly Quote Link to post
