big country 8 Posted June 3, 2010 Report Share Posted June 3, 2010 Hi this is just to ask you if this is ever happened to any of you.You see i got my hob ferret a vasectomy the vet said i had to keep him away from the jills for about 8 to 10 weeks and i miss counted didn't i what a (plonker)He was in with three jills so you can guess what happened the three of them had kits.This is the question the three jills are in the same cage looking after each others kits and they haven't killed any and also the hob is in the cage as well and he goes into the nest box to sleep and the kits crawl about him he just licks them and they are four weeks know.So is happened to any of you Quote Link to post

fensaluki 35 Posted June 3, 2010 Report Share Posted June 3, 2010 Its quite common mate.I know that you often hear that other ferrets especialy hobs will kill kits and even that the mother will kill them if other adult ferrets are around and trust me this can certainly be true but it only tends to happen if the ferrets are not used to being together or are not entirely happy or comfortable together. but if they are used to living together,get on well and are happy and healthy more often than not the kitts are brought up without any problems at all ATB Quote Link to post
