I'm sure that everyone wished to pass on their sympathy for those who are effected, and something like this happening is bound to stimulate some debate on the subject of firearm licensing, as can be seen on countless news channels and other internet sites. Why you are trying to show some sort of 'them and us' situation is beyond me. Plenty of shooting people also keep working dogs and fully support the right to hunt. You've now offended lots of shooting and hunting people with your outburst. If you are in mourning for friends or family, then get the feck off the internet and stop trying to cause a rift that doesn't exist. 1 Link to post

We all apologised on the topic you were referring to and Sporting Shooter locked the topic out of respect after you comment end of story...... After Hungerford and Dunblane, which were both followed by draconian legislation that did nothing to prevent this type of tragedy, it's only natural that people think about any future laws. The fact is, we can all sit here saying 'RIP' etc, but the people directly effected are not likely to be on THL at the moment to read it. It's a tragedy, and as I stated in the other thread, you can't legislate for lunatics, and trying to cause trouble between shooters and everyone else isn't going to help. Link to post

I fully comprehend your frustration, its a totally understandable reaction to what must have been an awful day in your part of the country, the third in recent months. Unfortunately, whereas our reaction to the shooting may be selfish upon reflection, like everything else today, it is a knee jerk reaction and as fellow countrymen/women we mean no harm by it as I'm sure you truly appreciate.
