cúagusgiorraí 57
The vets can treat the mange. You will need a vet to ascertain whether it is sarcoptic or demodectic mange. Some dogs that have had a bad life and diet, loose immunity and get demodectic mange. Wash him up and treat him for fleas and worms. Use something quality like Frontline, and Drontal Plus. Feed him a normal healthy diet. Dont over feed. Plenty of rest in a nice warm quiet bed. Go one put a picture of him up, so that we can see a before and after. I have helped many hounds in a similar poor state

TOPPER 1,809
get some food into them first breast of lamb , ox heart, lots of chichen then after a few days get it jabed with 0.5 ml of ivermec and clean the sores daily with antiseptic but plenty of good food that will do the trick with some TLC, all the best with it , top
Guest chook
Small meal's - about 4 - 5 times a day, you do not want to over load his system, especaly if hes not been eating properly, it can take a while to get them back to normal weight, overloading his system, can cause damage. second take the dog to a vets for a check up, dont bother about front line, ask the vet for either advocate or strong hold - both do mange and also worms, although i dont think they cover tape worms, if hes got sores he may need a cover of AB's, especaly if he's in a bad way, as he will be run down and wont be able to fight anything, if they give him AB's, then give him some prebyotic youghet(sp) over his food, to help his system cope with the AB's. I wouldnt be worried anyone will come to take your dogs away, if you get him vet treatment, it will show that you are taking care of him and getting him the treatment he needs.
