paddy.t 8
It's been a bit of a strugle to get my patterdale pup to show any interest in the many bunnys around my permission, but today was the day. He took off after the bunny, which didn't move at all, when I got loser I realised it was In the onset of mixu but nether the less it gave the pup a run for his money but made 1 mistake and turner right into his mouth:D Very pleased with the dog, even though it was Mixyed I know he has it in him. stick 2
will a terrier chase down a rabbit? not being a knob or anything, just figured that often a lurcher wont catch one and with their stride advantage etc. or is there a sneaky technique for it? well done on his first bunny though Quote Link to post
wirral countryman 2,110
stick, loads of leggy terrier's catch rabbits, not on big long runs usually, but it is not at all uncommon, seen them take hare's in the squat, mine do rabbits mostly in the cover but do catch on short runs between patches of cover and gorse etc, atb, wirralman Quote Link to post

stick 2
nah, im new, have me a dog i rescued that i now have more time to spend with. his recall needs improving but thanks to advice ive had from lads on here he's coming along now so am starting to look at what i can work him on as he is very eager and runs off when given the chance. looking for someone local to take us out for some ratting when his recall is bang on and then perhaps progress from there. sorry for the thread hijack by the way, but i am sure there will be other novices who wont be so brave to ask something a lot of you take for granted cheers Edited May 19, 2010 by stick Quote Link to post
