snoopdog 1,256
i was just wondering how your pups are doing with their training retreving basic commands. are they hunting up a bit on the lamp..livestock .ect....i will start with mine ..i will start with the bad points first ..but their nothing that cant be sorted with a bit of time and paitance.'I HOPE' ..my dogs is 10.1/2 months old he is saluki x grey/ collie xgrey.. my pup was injured about a month ago and the vet said he will need two weeks out.. so i gave him his two weeks rest and then started to take him out again i go out night and day with him.before the injury which he did on barbed wire ..hate the stuff.... he used to fetch back to me what ever he caught .but now he stops about five yards away and no matter how much i coaxe him he will not fetch it any closer .he will come to me but he leaves the prey where it is.he has also started hunting up a bit when iam out for shine not for long but for long enough if you no what i mean..he never did this before the injury.. well very rare . if he did hunt up it was on his first slip..but at the end of the day iam more than happy with him his persentage of catches per slip is more than good hes never taken a secound look at livestock hes in double figures with old long ears night and day and the same with rabbits hes been on a few ratting trips and does ok then aswell. ive tried to be perfectly honest with you and i hope you will do the same because at the end of the day they are pups so we need to have a lot patience i think what you put in they will give you ten times the amount back.. and if you have a pic lets have a look at your other half heres mine ... this is drey.... :thumbs-up: Quote Link to post
Lennard 10
Mine is doing pretty good. Completely housebroken, has a good recall, retrieves tennis balls half of the time, jumps on command, goes to his bed on command. Starts licking my hands instead of only biting them. Still interested in sheep but much better then 2 months ago. Had a couple of cuts but nothing serious. Pic of him is in a pic-of-pup topic some time ago. L.
