Rake aboot 4,936
Hello all Well, the wee pregnant Jill has been super affectionate this past while, specially with the wife. Constantly wants up,and getting a cuddle and a scratch behind the lugs etc. I`m at work for a while so the wife had her out in the garden yesterday. Sitting on her knee ,on her back getting a wee rub (wife says she`s more like a cat than a ferret) Anyway, she starts getting a bit fidgety so the wife puts her down, she starts going through the motions of going to the toilet but nothing there. Wife picks up on this and figures she is in labour !! Puts her back in her hutch where she goes through the motions again. The wife went away in to the house to try and encourage her to go back into her nest( grandsons old fleecey top). She does this so the missus pops out for a couple of hours. When she comes back she hears all the squeakin and mewling. Jill (Finella) pops back out and is despaerate to get out for a clap and some cuddles. Missus leaves her in but when she goes back in the missus get a quick look at 4 wee baby kits , All look fine. 22 years we`ve had ferrets and still love it. If there was smoking on this rig it wid be big cigars all round. happy days. Quote Link to post

Every time one bolted I moved the net to that hole thinking that's where the next one would come from, only to find the next one would bolt from where I'd just lifted the net. I ran round in circles, but eventually got lucky and went home the proudest kid in the village. That was nearly 51 yrs ago, I've kept ferrets ever since and believe it or not I loved the smell of that first ferret and still get a strange pleasure from the smell even today. Quote Link to post
