post-34278-127340306246_thumb.jpgI had a guest out this weekend and it was quite an eye opener. He was a true sportsman from belgium and had asked if i could get him on any deer that he thought were buy there best in his eyes a real trophy .I told him that i had a few old bucks and one in particular was in his 9th year and we had tried to remove him last year with out success. 4 outings were booked and we set about looking for some good old lads. We passed on quite a few big deer i my self would have thought would have been perfect for a foreign visitor but it was a no from him by the time we had got to outing 3 i was starting to despair he was placed in a high seat and said he had seen 3 bucks one that was truly special. But he had not seen any really old bucks so decided to leave them. The last outing saw us meet 6 lurcher lads driving some trees on my ground they are scum b*****ds i am not against lads taking a deer for the pot but at this time of year the does have got young at feet or they are very heavily pregnant. They moved off soon as they seen my jeep. My visitor was very angry at this site but we decided to carry on up the Vally. We had been out all morning and had seen plenty of deer but even on this last outing this chap said don't worry if i don't see a cull buck i will still be happy. WE stopped for a small while and watched 3 does feeding close to a wood edge when a large old buck jumped the fence to join them. Not a word was spoken and my guest just placed his sticks out and at 90 meters took the buck through the shoulders.

This was the old buck we had spoke about and i was delighted for him all's well that ends well and he has taken his old buck head home. For his patience and sportsmanship he took a real trophy and it will i am sure make Bronze medal.

FD this chap has lev two is very well read and seems to go with the (leave it if it ain't passed its best. It was nice to meet such a chap as i my self go down that same type of route when i can. But they are hard to take out because they will pass plenty to get what they want and for me that was pressure i don't need. Robbo that's the head in the picture i will see if the old yen will send me a picture when it is boiled out.

This is the best picture i have for the moment.
