fieldsportsman 107 Posted April 20, 2010 Report Share Posted April 20, 2010 hi all, whent bushing with my terrier last week for the first time, nearly got one, because as I entred the field the rabbits entred the bushes, sent the terrier in but came out empty handed I think they must of gone down a hole, I did only stay for about an hour, can anyone give me any tips such as shall I drive the rabbits out with a stick and ambush them in the runs with my terrier or any other tips that peple could give me. oh, and a lurcer or another dog is out of the question as I cant get one for a while. wirral countryman 2,110 Posted April 24, 2010 Report Share Posted April 24, 2010 bushing rabbits or foxes,etc,is only any good when pushing the quarry to a lurcher or a gun,my terrier's do catch in cover quite regular but it takes a while to gain the experience required to do so,your dog requires a good nose,that is the main requirement,the rest is learnt with time and patience,I work my dogs daily in cover so if you want any help pm me,atb,wirralman Quote Link to post Share on other sites
