Disaster day

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone i got call this morning of the local horse stud farm if i could come and make a start and ferret some rabbits for them, so got all me gear ready the freeret and picked me mate up. Went up there found a few nice small burys in and out caught few nice looking rabbits. Then we saw this nice looking hedge with a few holes running few it so we netted up popped in the ferret and all of a sudden we heard the squealin of a rabbit so thought this is going to be a digging job, so give him few minutes settle down then got the locator box out found him 6ft, so i started digging, checking the ferret was still there every now and agian, he was then all of a sudden after 4ft he had moved so i carried on digging while me mate searched for the ferret i broke through and no sign of a rabbit, by thgis time me mate had found him again but he only stayed put five minutes then moved again this time for good we seqarched up and down and were i was previously digging no sign what so ever no even a knock on the box, i have been looking there for 4 and half hours now and still no sign, i have left his ferret box near the hole i last saw him, and keep going up every half hour because it only 5 minutes up the road but any help what i could do would be grateful this is the first time i have ever lost a ferret in 8 years. I well gutted.:cry::cry:

when i was younger we used to get kill ins all the time and didnt have locators back then we used to have an old pillow case in the ferret box and if we got a kill in and didnt get the ferret back before dark we would block the holes up and stick the pillow case down one of the holes and go back at first light.......the ferret would always be on that pillow case ;)

we never lost a ferret.....they dont tend to go far mate and i'm confident yer wee buddy will be in the box in the mornin !

good luck and let us know WHEN you get it back
