Rabbithunter 456
Had between 20-25 wires out over last night. There was a few peg wires on a banking of a stubble field, lots of cracking runs, but the ground was quite soft and i never had any hoops with me So i got a few in where the ground was hard enough. This acounted for 2 rabbits out of about 5 peg wires. Further round where i noticed rabbits using a run through a fence right by an open gate so i snared this on the fence and caught a rabbit. Another field along a woodside where foxes are known to be mooching around, i set 9 fence wires and accounted for 1 rabbit that had been half eaten, i think the fox maybe have been disturbed as he didnt take the full bunny, nor was the wire snapped. All the way down this woodside is a muddy track that cows had made soft (no cattle in field at time of snaring) there was fox prints all down this and the smell was strong, just should of snared the fox on there, will do next time  Another field by a sand quarry had a good few runs on but again it was soft so i managed about 6-8 peg wires which took one rabbit, 1 snare was knocked. Sorry, i dont have photo's as someone forgot the camera all in all 5 rabbits (1 of which was half eaten). But i shall be returning to the sand quary and the stubble field with the hoops next chance i get , may even do the "fifty snare challenge" :11: As i am getting £2.50 a rabbit i am trying to kill as many as i can Quote Link to post

Spike01 0
Had the same happen to me last week………….25 peg snares out, 18 rabbits accounted for over 3 nights and I only took 3 home. The rest had either gone to Mr Fox or the numerous badgers in the area! Not happy Quote Link to post
ferreterno1 0
WHAT A WASTE OF BUNNYS Quote Link to post
Spike01 0
Tell me about it. I still get paid but the rabbits are what make up the money. We are going to have to have a sort out with the foxes. The farmer was as up-set as I was. He knows that I can only keep the price down all the time I am taking rabbits to the game dealer.
