mangy1983 51
Whilst shooting my rim fire rifle I have noticed that the bullets fired from it are affected quite a bit by the wind. Wind speeds were I live are about 15mph - 20mph most of the time which means that l spend a good bit of time re zeroing the scope to suit. I do wait for the gusts to die down before l fire and once l re-zero my scope my groupings a less than an inch at fifty yards. I'm waiting for a nice calm day to zero the gun in so that the only factor shooting wise that can mess up the point of impact is myself. Once this has been done I hope to learn the wind gauges on my cross-hairs but as it is getting quite annoying I'm debating whether to get a variation for a more powerful calibre. Which calibres do you guys reckon are less or more affected by the wind? Cheers Callum Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
well for longer range the heavier the bullet the less afected by wind it is. because they have better bc. but if your rabbit shooting you are not going to want to use a high powered centrefire on rabbits. Quote Link to post
