Hoolit 2
It would seem that some orgonisations the RSPB being one seem to trying to make changes in what ammo we can use for deer, it is reported that the RSPB (wich should be renamed RSPR for their work in protecting raptors above all other bird species) anyway back to bullets ,the RSPB have carried out a study on their land and the stalkers they use are using a copper bullet in place of lead it would seem from the report that there is very little difference in ballistics it is also reported that the RSPB will put in place a complete ban on lead bullets on their land . It would seem the information origonates from a raptor protection group in the USA and even in the states is was deemed as very controversial .The report claims that raptors that feed from gralloch injest lead . The British deer Society Peter green pointed out that lead levels in other ruminants are found to be higher than that found in deer and maybe we should stop eating steak and kidney pies . Imo i hope the Scottish parliament dont get wind of this or we will all be stalking with copper soon. Good luck. Quote Link to post

clint 45
No need to follow like sheep, if you no aprov , simply say no !! You are the stalker ,not the polotic people, you descide. This country get some crazy idea sometime, for 100 year & more we all use lead, for impact & because it form destructive shape when shoot,it humane, also easy to make & fit good into barrel groov, wit accuratcy. copper no good, splinter & caus problem. Then if we use copper, they say same , in few year as polotic people say with lead. Quote Link to post

I saw this in the shooting times & as you say its not looking good 5yrs fae now but im sure there might be some non-toxic developments like the non-toxic shot for wildfowel but at a cost as non-toxic is expensive so time will tell.
