Brimmer 220
Don't say we're in for yet another bout of mink/ferret/polecat/badger hybrid debate.. Strap yaself in Malts...it's going to be a longin Cannot believe meerkats and mongoose were left out of the bloodline, look at the teamwork factor! Quote Link to post
longnetter 32
Never really seen the need for hybrids, they never seem to work any better that the bog standard ferret but show ferret keepers seem to like 'em because they are usually dark....show ferret judges on the other hand hate them because they're usually nasty little buggers . In the end I suppose it is the "curiosity factor" . ATB Quote Link to post
wullieh 53
my friend has now got a third generation hybrid prgramme running he bred so it was50% then diluted it the next twice kept the colour and the speed and also got them that tame you wouldnt know the differance from a normal ferret, as i said my first one was a rescue that i felt was unsuitable to go to a new home and i will not put a healthy animal down, i know people with ferrets that go by the old saying 3 strikes and your out. this is not the case with me as ive had ferrets for 24 yrs and handled thousands of them between the rescue and the game fairs i attend and ive only ever been bitten three times and they were all rescues, and that was in the last yr, i do not see being bitten with a kit as a bite as they only like any other animal and will try out there teeth and need to be tought not to bite just like hybrids, but i think with hybrids having such a bad name no matter how tame you get them we are all human and thee will always be that little bit of doubt on them turning on you. but even if they did bit then i would see it as an error on my part and not the hybrids, Quote Link to post
