Ive just decided tonight i would like to try my dog on raw meat rather than nuts.Would one rabbit be enough per day? will he not choke on the bones? And do i give him whole carcasses or chopped up meat? :signthankspin:

they'll need more than 1 rabbit a day, as long as the bones arnt cooked they should be ok. when cooked they splinter and compact in the gut. ive never had any problems feeding raw bones so far to my pup. whole carcus skinned and gutted, he can work his way through it then insted of just necking a bowl full of crunchie. rabbit doesnt have much fat in it iirc and dogs need a fair bit of fat as they use it for energy so perhaps feed a bit of raw beef aswell. get down the butchers and see if hes got any off cuts or bones you can have. he has to pay to get rid of it so offer him a small amount and he cant refuse. 1 rabbit, well my 6 month old pup would have more than that in 1 day (if i had enough) with some other meat and shes not working. try rainmaker kenels on here, his web site may be a good place to have a squint at aswell. some allso like to add some fruit and veg for vits etc aswell as a few cheap tins of sardines or mackrel every week to keep the coat good and joints suple.

The amount you feed obviously depends on the dog's size and activity level (and the size of the rabbit), just saying "it will need more/less than 1 a day isn't good enough.

have a look over past threads regarding raw feeding and take a look at "Rainmaker kennels" website, ww.rainmakerkennels.co.uk I think.

I use mostly (60% + ?) Breast of Lamb. Tons of bone. Lashings of fat. Plenty of excellent flesh :good: Cheaper than chips and a world better for them ;)

I also give them Ox Heart and Tounges. F*ckin superb grub! My bloody Dogs are eating So much better than me! Mr f*ckin Beefburger Man here!
