when do peasants and patridges start laying.

Recommended Posts

as a rule 1st of may the first eggs (german rule of thumb, won't be that far off).

pheasant are a couple of weeks earlier(brooding around 24 days).

the chicks are self supporting from around 8 weeks(starting to spread out).

i have always found it amazing that the chicks can fly almost straight away!

No all in 60x40 pens at a ratio of 7 hens to 1 cock all caught up after the shooting season finished,As soon as you get em off wheat on to pellets its not long before you pick your 1st egg up,

Nice. How many birds do you have mate?
