waidmann 105 Posted March 23, 2010 Report Share Posted March 23, 2010 (edited) as a rule 1st of may the first eggs (german rule of thumb,won't be that far off). pheasant are a couple of weeks earlier(brooding around 24 days). the chicks are self supporting from around 8 weeks(starting to spread out). i have always found it amazing that the chicks can fly almost straight away! waidmann Edited March 23, 2010 by waidmann Quote Link to post

We found that they started laying naturally ( in a Pen without artificial light ) during the first week of April increasing in number laid until they were all laying by the middle / late April.
