pups first night out

Recommended Posts

mate phoned me in the week,he's picked up some land ideal for running the lurchers on and asked if i wanted to bring fen my pup 3/8 bull 5/8grey along to watch his bull whippet and gain a bit of experience.

So at 9:00 pm we met up,not the best night for lamping ,being a clear still night,

with the stars doing there best to put a dampener on things.

Into the first field where thwe farmer said was over-ridden with rabbits, nothing! :hmm:

into the next ,eyes, but it was a hare, not having a gun with us decided against slipping  ,on to the next field we spot the first rabbit my mate slips his dog good

course but the rabbit makes it to the hedge

Next there is another rabbit he slips and the first is in the bag all the time my bitch is on her hind legs wanting part of the action but not yet.

We walk a little further and spot a squatter i walk the beam with my bitch but

it kicks up just about 15 ft away i slip, wondering if i've done the right thing rabbit runs back and forth along the hedge then back into the field fen lost some groung on the turn ,but when the rabbit turns into the field she accelerates

forcing it to turn back towards the hedge looks like it away but with another turn of speed she strikes just as the rabbit hits the cover ,got ya !!!!

retreives to my mate :censored: but hey it's his land :) needless to say chuffed to bits ,on the lead for the rest of the night for her but a great start.

Saw a few other things but left shortly after grinning from ear to ear

all the best Roybo :yahoo:
