mushroom 14,247
Right been using the mk3 for a while now and I'm looking for a new type of locator that has more in common with the terrier finders. I.E. has direction and depth displayed on a screen but also with the three antanae that aids local triangulation (basically the fecker tells me exactly where my fezzers are ) I thought I may find them in American stores as ferrets are kept more as pets over there and they have a mind boggling array of stuff to keep them and their owners happy including locators but I couldn't find any Does anyone know of such a holy grail device????? Please post if you do Cheers Shroom Quote Link to post
Haystack 11
No, there are really no other ferret locators. What's the issue that you are having?. I have never had any problems just digging with the mk3, but there is a bit of skill to it, and to be honest I've become a bit of a dab hand. You need practice and common sence, but you can always work out where a ferret is with just a mk3 (I do it by sound alone). If you ever come down my way, I'll take you out and show you the secrets behind using it. Quote Link to post
michael40 4
i think someone with a bit of know how could make a small fortune if they came out with a suitable replacement for the Mk3's good luck in your search mate Quote Link to post
gnipper 6,914
Its easier to just follow the pitch of the mk3 I reckon. The directional arrows might be good if it went for a good distance but when your practically stood above the ferret in most buries then there'd be no point. Quote Link to post
mushroom 14,247
gnipper lad I'm lazy I want technology to tell me what's going on. In all honesty I can't see why barryvox or bellman and flint dont downsize their collars to fit fezzers. Quote Link to post
