Ferreting Dogs

Ok lads looking for advice here, ive been ferreting a few years now but only have my first lurcher 2 months,

i have seen some people on here use dogs with the ferrets. What are the benefits of having a dog ferreting?

Would he be able to hold rabbits in the nets without killing them. My dog is 9 months doing well on the lamp now and is 25 inches @ the shoulder. Is it to late to start him ferreting? How would i start him?

I think you told me this, but i forgot , sorry, but what breeding is he?

I would imagine he would be fime to start some ferreting, is he ok with the ferrets?

I did frank hes a whippet x collie/grey and hes not bad more work to be done with him though. Its the actual training id like to know.

benefits are you dont need to net unused warrens,a good dog should mark the occupied ones.also he should catch the ones that slip the nets.

you may find him a bit over keen if he has taken rabbits on the lamp.

in my opinion the dog is a important to you when you go ferreting. they will mark up for you. catch rabbits that have slipped nets etc. pin rabbits down in nets. Just take the dog a few times ferreting he should get the hang of it
