Just had a toe removed from my lurcher bitch.3rd toe in on front left leg. Wondering whether she will lamp again. Any body with same problem?.

;) it will be fine seen plenty of dogs with missing toes , no problem

Glad to hear that, as the vet did'nt fill me with much confidence this morning wondered if just causes probs with other toes on same foot

my dog had a toe off about 18 mnth ago it was taken off just after her knuckle so it has a tiny stub but seen others what have them off further down towards their toe

the latter been more of a pain as there is more bone sticking out

with my bitch what has only a small stub she was out of action for 4 months roughly but scar tissue can take upto a year or so to disappear she was walking and coursing on it very gingerly for a while but plenty of road walking and soft ground excersise will build her confindence up and toughen her area up no end be patient with her ,you'll know when she s ready you'll see a big difference when out and about

Thanks for that. Good to speak to somebody with the same problem. My bitch has just small stub. Will take your advise, and do plenty of road work. She is like a coiled spring at the moment. Be good to give her a good walk.Only been 10 days since the op.the foot is still wrapped, and on anti-biotics.

its a long draw out thing mate but take with her and she 'll turn out ok,grass or soft ground only though as when the stitches are out she'll want to run like she did before keep on on the lead as long as you need to ,i had my dog on lead for 5 wk a think a pain in arse like but worth it
