Lewdan 17
i use and reload for my .22k Hornet, just wondering if there is any need to clean the internal surfaces of the brass, i know that the bigger calibre reloaders use tumblers and sonic baths ect to clean their cases but is it worth it on my little hornet PS some of my cases have been reloaded about 10 times Cheers LD Quote Link to post
clint 45
the pressure of the hornet caliber is very high, always clean & reshape well, the length is critical, for acuurate hits. the primer hole shoud be also very clean for ignite powder. If i load a 204 cliber x10 i will get hot the brazz case around the sholder & let cool slow, before full size, for optimum life & always use ultra sonic for loosen old powder bits, before i re use. SNAP SHOT 194
Yes you should clean your brass, by any of the two mean's, clean brass not only looks good, but you can spot trouble with the brass when its clean, also the primer pockets need to be cleaned for good consistant ignition, inside the case walls also need cleaned, so buy yourself a cheap tumbler and get cracking... ATB. Snap. Quote Link to post

Treacle Trackpad 6
Internal cleaning, yes or no? YES For all the reasons already highlighted. Get a cheap sonic cleaner, they go for around 15 quid. Use 50/50 white vinigar and hot water with a drop of washing up liquid, bang through the cleaner a few times then rinse with bicard solution to neutralise the vinigar's acid. Rinse in water, dry and the Bob's your mother's brother. Simples. If you reload quite a lot get a tumbler. Quote Link to post
