clint 45
A farmer is fed up of the local fishing men club, leaving his gates open & tramping his vegitation, thru the spring & summer. He as asked me to take any fish i want for us, to share. The river is not so deep & he siggested long netting , from one side to the other. He did this as a kid ,with his brother, when the farm was his fathers. When i was in poland we did this also, with small fireworks to throw in the water up the flow, the fish float & the net catches all. we keep the big fish & let the little fish go again. The fish people only fish the other side ,not his, suppost to stay over there. Can we do this ? Quote Link to post
Guest bullterrier
simple answer no the fishing club must be paying for the water to fish if he as a problem with them he should contact the fishing club what fish are in there Quote Link to post

bobcullen79 1,495
This aint poland mate. You cant wipe out fish stocks just because the farmer said so. The fish belong to the angling club who run that stretch. I would stay out of it,say a couple of club members catch you at it,all they are goin to see is a Pole with a big net and as you may or may not know angling clubs have had big problems with Poles and big nets. Just my 2 bob`s worth... Quote Link to post
Malt 379
It's a shame Mackem's not around here these days, he'd have some tips for you..... This aint poland mate. Just my 2 bob`s worth... The fish don't belong to anybody, only the right to fish for them at a particular stretch belongs to whoever holds the rights. What happens if the fish swim down stream, have they got special markings so that nobody else catches them on another stretch? Quote Link to post

So if a club stocks its waters once the fish go in the water, the club loses ownershipof the fish,is that what your saying? You condone river fishing with fire works do you? Dakaras 3
it is illegal under the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 to use explosives as a method of killing any animal pretty sure that counts for fish as well Quote Link to post
