Urban Fox Control London 8
If its a 'country fox' you probably won't !!! If its a urban town fox try Felix cat food, cooked chicken carcase, mackerell (whole), jam sandwiches etc. Don't set the trap to trap straight away. Win its confidence first by pre-baiting (door tied open with cable ties) with the food around the mouth of the trap and then start putting the food in a little bit further until it is passed the 'pedal', if you are using a press pedal trap as I do. The same goes if you are using a pull-wire trap. Use chicken drumsticks as a pre-bait to encourage charlie to pull the drumstick. Good luck out smarting Mr.Fox. What are you going to use to dispatching your catch? Edited February 8, 2010 by Urban Fox Control London Quote Link to post
bagzi 0
Yes that's Good advice I do a lot of loose baiting outside of the trap usually use a cockeral as the main bait but will get some bones from the Butcher leave them for a couple of weeks then put some in and outside behind the cockeral usually get them. If your like Me and live in the country You have to persevere or Shoot the F*****r. Quote Link to post

OldTrapCollector 377
Make sure the fox is not walking onto wire mesh - they don't like it - chuck a good few shovel fulls of fresh earth mixed in with chicken shed shavings etc to cover the mesh. Also put one side against a fence/shed/gate or something to stop him walking round it. He's more likely to venture in then. Good luck! OTC Quote Link to post

But, id say DONT tie the trap door open at all! Theres no point whatso ever getting it used to going into the trap, if it goes in once, it should not be coming back out! Quote Link to post
