dh90 6
What age should a pup start retrieving. Ive got a bedlington greyhound x whippet pup, 18 weeks old and at the min will chase after a ball or toy all day and run back to its bed with it. i can get it to retrieve in a corridoor if i sit in his way to his bed ( realy just trying to get passed me) but as soon as i move he carries on running to his bed. this is my first dog so never done it before but didnt want to leave anything too late (maybe im trying too soon). So far his sit, stay and recall is quite good. Am i just expecting too much too soon and have you got any tips for retrieve training?

salclalin 240
What you are doing is Spot on.But Don't give the Pup to many Retrieves or he will get Bored. Two or Three a Day is enough for a Pup that age.Make it a Game for the Pup,A game that he enjoys.
