pup still weeing in crate

hi my 9 month old terrier bitch is still weeing when put away ,any help please

Does she pee in other parts of the house?

Presuming you make sure she goes out for a wee before you put her in the crate, could it be a stress thing? Does she get a bit worried about going in the crate and being left alone? If she does, maybe you could try putting her in for short periods when you're around, and staying with her. Few dogs will soil their beds, so maybe you could make the crate smaller so there is only just room for her bed?

It's important to clean all the areas she's soiled thoroughly to remove all the smell. Use a solution of biological washing powder in warm water and wash her bed and the crate thoroughly. You can get special spray which is supposed to clean and mask any smells, but dunno if it works.

I think scolding her would probably make the situation worse. When she does go out for a pee tell her what you want her to do and make a big fuss of her when she does it. Don't put her in the garden alone then let her in a few minutes later and give her a biscuit or she'll think the reward is for coming in, not for doing her wees. Go outside with her and give her a treat and a fuss as soon as she wees outside.

That is very frustrating. For a long time my bitch pup peed in her bedding (at over a year old). She had a plastic kidney-shaped bed with a blanket in it. She used to pull the blanket out of the bed, pee on the blanket and then sleep on it. She always smelt of pee. I lost the bap and threw out the blankets and left her the plastic bed to sleep on. The pissing then stopped and she never started it again. She has blankets in her bed again. My dogs live indoors,so there was no fear of her getting cold without a blanket. I think she was just fixated on pissing on the blanket and liked the smell because it was hers. It might be worth a try.
